Christmas Morning
We have come a long way from our first Christmas morning experience two years ago. I remember blogging about that morning...we woke up and immediately opened our presents without even barely brushing our teeth or Randall putting on a shirt. After it, I felt frustrated that we didn't get good pictures (because Randall was in raggedy boxers with no shirt on) or that it wasn't more meaningful. Ha! <
We have learned to slow it down a bit and be more patient! I wouldn't say we have it down yet, and maybe each year will always be different, but I do enjoy Christmas morning now! I have never celebrated Christmas morning as a child, ever that I know of, so there were no traditions in place or in my head to go off of.
Since we didn't get home until midnight the night before, Lexie didn't wake up until almost 10! Tripp slept until 9ish. That was nice! Randall and I actually woke up a little before them and got ourselves ready for the day. I was able to start preparing some breakfast and getting myself together. The kids woke up and were thrilled. We put on Christmas Carols and played with our toys from the night before, ate breakfast, and blew out a candle after singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. We talked again about why we were celebrating today...that all these wonderful decorations, Christmas parties, and gifts are all in honor of the most special birthday we can ever celebrate...Jesus' Birthday!
They were so happy to receive each item and then we sent them out to the garage for their last big item! It was great! Pure joy! Love those little kiddos...
