Wild Child

We've been cooped up in the house this week because the kids have been really sick. Just as Lexie was getting better, Tripp came down with RSV and he looks horrible. So I was trying to be creative and we put a blow up pool at the bottom of the little slide we have in our house, and I filled it with plastic balls for Lexie to slide into. However, she didn't care to slide...she just jumps straight off the top of the slide into the ball pit. It's rather scary if you ask me, however, she had a blast!

I eventually moved that trunk you see in the right side of the picture for fear of a head injury.

Trippy Doodle

My little Trippy Doodle has met a new milestone! He has started to sit up! Of course, he still needs someone right there to catch him when he takes a tumble.
So that's not a real roach in the picture. It's one of Lexie's bugs.
Tripp loves his big sister and he laughs so much at her. Here she's trying to get him to laugh.

Lexie's new toys

my two cuties
Lexie loves all of Tripp's baby contraptions.
She loves the bouncer...it's great for lounging around and reading a good book or just relaxing
and the swing...it's the perfect place to swing her babies or just get some rocking action for herself
why she likes the Bumbo I don't know, but she loves saying bumbo and usually when I get it out for Tripp, by the time I turn around to pick him up and put him in it...she's already making herself right at home.
Then there's the exersaucer. I guess it does seem like a lot of fun.
and his activity gym she uses for relaxing with a nice cup of milk, letting her baby dolls play, or to spend some QT with her little bro...
And she loves sucking on all of his pacifiers so that I have to wash them a million times a day...actually I don't even rinse them off anymore.

The boppy pillow is great for being fed popsicles

Her latest is Tripp's new bath seat we got him so they could take a bath together

My little teacher

I always wonder what my kids will be when they grow up. I think Lexie is already practicing to be a teacher. She's so sweet.

She lined up all the animals and started reading to them. How precious!

Falling behind

I am starting to fall behind on blogging. I am happy to report that I am starting to get out of the house more during the day which feels great! However, that means less time for blogging and facebook. The other reason I am falling behind is because my sweet little boy has suddenly become a fussy baby!! Ever since those 2 bottom teeth broke through last week he cries as soon as he even thinks you might be putting him down. I used to get a great break during nap time because they were both napping or it at least overlapped an hour or so. Now he's not sleeping so good and is just crying a lot when he's awake.
all tuckered out from crying so much!

Reminiscing

Where has the time gone? I often think about my time of being a mom. I remember certain milestones so vividly in my mind which I am so thankful for. I often try to look back at my pictures and videos often so as to keep those memories fresh in my mind. I am so fearful of forgetting those precious moments that are never to be made again, that time has vanished never to have a second chance. Everyday I look at my kids and think about whether I am going to remember this moment, this stage, the way Lexie says certain things like "gook" for milk or "otaaay" for OK after you ask her a question. Will I remember that feeling or the look on her face when she runs into my arms saying "mommy, mommy " with such a big smile and I swoop her up and we squeeze each other? Am I going to remember the hard times more like temper tantrums in the mall or syrup squirted all over my carpet? Will I be able to see Tripp's sweet, bashful smile as a 4 month old so vividly in my head in a few years or the way he looks so peaceful as he's nursing in my arms? Will I remember the sound of his screams and the sad expression on his face when he gets upset that I have set him down and walked away? Will I remember the way it felt to hold my babies at each age in my arms... Am I appreciating this gift God has given to me? I like to believe that I am trying my hardest to savor each moment, so thankful for the opportunity to be their mom and just simply be with them everyday.
