The past year...

clapping
Can you believe my baby is 1 year old??! Where has the time gone? It seems like only yesterday that I was waiting and waiting for him to come, finally being induced a week late... then getting home from the hospital on Wednesday the 10th of September and immediately preparing for a hurricane 2 days later. Then the night of the hurricane taking Lexie to the emergency room at 4:00pm for ear infections. Whew... that was a stressful week!
Tripp makes my heart flutter and makes me smile just thinking about him. He's such a mama's boy and I love it! He is such a joy to us and I am loving each stage of his life right now. He's exploring, climbing, and eating everything!
He FINALLY started sleeping better just last month! Ha! I had a tough time with him and the sleeping! I never imagined it would take this long to get him to sleep past 4am. I finally let him cry it out at 4am and now he sleeps until between 6-6:45. I feed him and he goes back to sleep until almost 8! I am pretty happy with that schedule! He goes to sleep around 7:30.
He loves to point to where he wants to go and lean the way he wants me to walk and he loves to eat by himself! Makes for some seriously messy mealtimes! He loves the ball popper, the ball pit, stacking cups, our little tikes tunnel, playing basketball, and being outside. He LOVES the park and we have to pry him away from it! He can climb so good!
He loves his bath and playing in the water outside and he loves to say "dada." It's so cute... I've heard him say mama a few times but he mostly just says dada. He also says ball and eat pretty clearly as well as Uh (for uh-oh). Lexie and I sing all day long and I have been catching him singing (more like humming) in the car to songs. When he plays cars or tractors he makes the brmm sound. It's too cute.
He started taking 5-6 steps at a time the day before his birthday.
Just looking at him makes me smile and I feel so blessed to have him in our lives! I chuckle all day long at his cute little face and all the faces he makes and things he does. I love all of his kisses...he loves to kiss everyone! Gosh I love that boy!
Love you little Trippy!

at least she's napping!

I thought Lexie had pretty much given up her naps so I decided I would make her stay in her room for a rest time. Some days she falls asleep and some days she plays for 2 hours in her bed singing songs, reading books, and playing with her animals. Lately though I have been putting her in her bed earlier and she seems to be going to sleep more often than not! Here's how I've found her just in the last week...
