Take me out to the Ballgame

An awesome family night at the Astros game!
the 4 of us and Papa Collum
Diamond Club Seats...the best ever!
All the food you can eat and snacks free
Lexie ate 2 tubs of popcorn...sigh
she passed on the cotton candy-thank you, Lord!
Lexie was mesmerized and she sat still the whole time!
Tripp did not fuss but he didn't want to sit still
Lexie sang take me out to the ball game-She's so cute!
Randall got two game balls from the Marlin's coach!
Many memories made that we will talk about for years to come!

potty training...

So in the last week we have had some success with potty training. Basically if Lexie is naked then she will go in the potty 100% of the time. If she has anything else on like diapers or panties she goes in the pants.
We have spent a lot of time being naked this past week. Lexie was even waiting for the maid in the window by the door naked. The maid told her she was in her birthday suit and she looked down as if she was looking for a birthday suit...haha! Then when I told her we were working on potty training... Lexie bent her knees a little and proceeded to show her her tee tee...saying, "see, see?" Yikes! She's so funny!

My latest potty training experience went something like this...

child: Lexie has to go poopoo.

mommy: ok..let's go in the toy room potty.

child: mommy, get out

mommy: ok...I'll stand right outside the door. ( i kept peeping in though and she would jump off the potty to slam the door on me)

With mommy waiting outside the door I hear Lexie get off the potty. I walk in to see Lex a roo looking at the poop, then looking at me then back at the poop. Something seemed fishy and she looked guilty.

child: See? See?

mommy: you pooped! Great job, Lexie!

child: lizard

mommy: huh?

child: (pointing) Lizard in poopoo (one of her toy lizards)

mommy: (peering into the potty slowly and nervously) Lexie, how did the lizard get in the potty?

child: (extremely guilty stare at mommy)

mommy: you wait right here so mommy can go get a bag and some wipes

i leave and come back

mommy: (looking to grab the lizard but noticing the poop was rearranged) Lexie did you touch the poopoo?

child: get lizard out

mommy: oh Lord...do NOT touch anything. (Lexie lifts her hands to wipe her nose) NO...don't touch anything!!

I grab the lizard with a grocery bag, wipe Lexie's butt and hands, wash her hands in the sink and just overall feel very disgusted! I probably should have done some of those things in a different order!

4 wheelin

Lexie enjoyed riding the 4 wheeler around the block. It was definitely not one of those activities as a mom that you were excited for your 2 year old to do. Randall is always Mr. Optimist and I am Mrs. Pessimist! Lexie had a blast and kept saying, "do it again!"

Nap time

My child is refusing naps and it is just wearing me out. She will just fight me to the end. Today was awful and I felt mentally drained by the time she finally fell asleep at 5:00pm! We started the process at 2:30!!I don't always make her take a nap so I am sure if I was more consistent with forcing her to then it might get better. Although the days she doesn't take a nap she honestly just doesn't seem tired at all. I make her sit in her bed for 1-2 hours everyday though!! She usually will sit in her bed and read or play with her animals. Occasionally she tries to come out of her room. Today I put the child knob on her door and man she screamed hysterically for about 30 min. She also is guilty of taking off all her clothes and her diaper and peeing around her room. She sure is a stinker. She pulls everything out of her drawers sometimes too. I don't know if I should be forcing her to sleep or just keep allowing her to have that quiet time in her bed for 1-2 hours. However, it doesn't always seem like quiet time when there's screaming and pounding on the door. Hmmm...

yak

This week everytime we pass cows while driving or have seen one in a book Lexie says, "That's a yak." I would say, " you see those cows?" And she would say, "No, that's a yak!" I didn't have a clue what she was talking about, and then I started thinking about it and I did think I had heard of an animal called a yak before, but would my 2 year old know of it? Randall didn't know either (and he's much smarter than I!) So I had to google it! Haha! Sure enough it is closely related to cattle. I am sure she picked it up from one of her shows. Funny though...
