Sports Fanatics

This fall we were trying to decide what to do with Tripp. He didn't want to do gymnastics anymore and we feel barely 3 is kind of young for organized sports but we were looking into soccer since he said he wanted to play. We really didn't want to do soccer though since it was a nightmare when Lexie tried to play at 3. Lexie started back at gymnastics for the fall and I got an email from her gymnastics place that same week saying they were starting a Sports Fanatics class for boys. I immediately signed him up for a free trial. I'm so thankful for this class as it's one of the highlights of my week. Tripp is so stinking cute and he LOVES it! The teachers there are so great and make it silly and fun yet getting to do sports, which Tripp loves! He's the youngest since it's for ages 3-5 and he was barely even 3 the week we tried it, but he's doing fine. They did baseball the first two weeks and now they've moved on to football. Here are some videos I shot of him at this week's football class. They had them doing drills like high knees (hilarious!), running backwards,and a little obstacle course while holding the ball and the teachers try to get them to fumble. They also were throwing the ball at a target. Lexie and I couldn't stop laughing! He was so happy!

Grandparents' Day

Lexie and Tripp had grandparents' day at school. Nana and Grandma met us there for donuts and juice, and then walked them to their classroom. Lexie's class gave them a jar with candy and Tripp's class made a card. Tripp's class also sang a few songs which was so cute. It was so fun to see how proud Tripp was in his class. He was so excited to participate in the songs. Plus it was the first day out of 4 that he didn't cry when we dropped him off! Let's hope it wasn't just because of grandparents' day!

A new cousin!

Randall's first cousin had a baby girl 2 weeks ago, and we took the kids to see her in the hospital! It's the same hospital I will deliver at so I was so glad they got to see everything! Here we are with baby Averi They made an appearance at Tripp's party too!

Chase's Birthday

I love all my little nephews and my niece. My first nephew turned 10! I can't believe it's been 10 years. Love him so much! He's such a good, smart boy and he always loves to play with the younger ones. I think he may be getting close to being able to babysit!! I didn't get any pictures, but Tripp loved dressing up in all the Halloween costumes they've accumulated over the last 10 years! The video is us singing happy birthday to him.

Bluebell Creamery

We went on our first tour of Bluebell. It was fun! Of course, the best part is getting a big scoop of ice cream at the end. Yum!

Tripps Baseball Party

As most of you know, I love my kid parties! The week of the party definitely reminds me of how I was as a teacher...always trying to think of better ideas for the kids, stressed, determined, focused, but so happy of the end product. I love themes! There are SO many cute ideas out there, but you just can't do them all! We had a house FULL of people! It was wild! We had about 35 adults and 25 kids. I think Tripp and all the kids had a great time. We had a water slide, 500 water balloons, snow cones, and several treats. We had hot dogs and nachos for dinner. The baseball sugar cookies were popular. We had red velvet, mint chocolate chip, italian cream, and strawberry cupcakes. I have to admit ,they weren't my best decorating, and the red velvet I over baked, and they were a little dry. Oh well! I loved the mint chocolate chip though! Here's the front and back of the invitation This banner I made says "Tripp is 3." These cookies took me the longest to make. They were a hit though! Concessions table outside. We had snow cones, cracker jacks, animal crackers, and baseball mints on this table. create a pennant craft. party favors table in the entry Tripp kept wanting to open presents so my sister let him open theirs a little early. He was so happy. :)

Land

Well, I still can't believe it, but we are set to close on some property in 2 weeks! We've been looking for many years, and something finally popped up that looked great for us! We are looking forward to many fun family memories out here! Here are a few pictures from this evening. We went to look at it again today to measure some things in the house and just get to know the property a little better. The kids found a turkey feather, caught grasshoppers, watched the cows, climbed a few mesquite trees, and seemed excited to be out there. We even saw some deer! It's SO dry out there! Hopefully it will rain soon!

First Week of School

Well, I have to say this week has not gone as planned. As I'm writing this my eyes are puffy from crying the whole way home from dropping the kids off at school. It's my first day in 4.5 years that I haven't had atleast one child with me during the week. You would think I would be happy... Monday Lexie woke up with a bad, itchy rash. We watched it and it looked better but continued to flare up off and on. She had to miss the first day of school, and the 2nd. We took her to the Dr. Wednesday after doing benadryl for 48 hours (the doctors request) and she has a viral rash with a weird name. It will just have to go away on its own and we will have to deal with the itching for probably 2-3 weeks! So Today (Thursday) was her first day back. She was happy and walked right in before I could even say anything. She walked right up and hugged her teacher. She's so friendly and sweet. Then there's Tripp. My little man, who is 3 today. He is such a precious little mama's boy and my heart is broken that both days of school he screamed when I dropped him off. Tuesday the teacher said he screamed for 25 minutes. She had to pry him off of Randall...he was clinging to his neck so hard. It's an awful feeling just dumping your kid off with strangers and leaving them when they aren't happy about it. Every part of me says he can wait a year, and I should go get him. Especially today...it's HIS day, his birthday! I pray that he stopped crying and is having fun with the shaving cream the other kids had all over the table and that this crying at drop off ends soon! Sleeping has been weird as I worry about Lexie, and she wakes up itching like crazy and coughing horribly. So I lay with her and listen to her cough for an hour until the benadryl or allegra finally kicks in and soothes her. Then I don't usually sleep good after that. We are having a party for Tripp on Friday and I have about 60 cupcakes to make and decorate as well as baseball cookies to ice. I'm hoping I can get it all done today while they are at school! Let's hope I don't get a call that Lexie is too itchy. She was sad that she had to miss the first few days. I am emotionally drained this week! I think if Tripp was happy to go to school then that would have changed the whole week. My poor boy, but he sure looked handsome in his new clothes! He seemed fine at first on the first day until we told him bye... I took them for ice cream at Orange Leaf after Tripp's first day. Here's the pics of Lexie today, on her first day... Here is a picture of the brownie treats I made for Tripp's class to celebrate his birthday! I thought these would help make him happy, but they didn't. He also brought everyone a baseball sticker.
