The Country

Great views! Ahhhh, I love the country! People often ask, "what do you do when you go to the country?" To many, it seems boring. What you do is have good old-fashioned fun. You FIND things to do and it is a great feeling spending time with your kids OUTSIDE with nature. It's peaceful and relaxing and there are no distractions. It's definitely a place where a kid can just be a kid. If possible a 4-wheeler sure makes it a heck of a lot MORE fun! Here are some things we did this weekend with our munchkins... 1. picked pecans. Lexie was obsessed with it. 2. we played in the leaves...making piles and throwing them on each other. 3. had a picnic 4. hiked around 5. had races 6. stacked rocks and collected rocks 7. played kickball and baseball 8. climbed trees 9. collected sticks 10. rode 4 wheelers 11. watched the cows 12. collected acorns 13. played at a playground we found in town We have a small tract of land, 15 acres, on the N Llano River that we bought as an investment with some friends. It's beautiful really, and the water is clear and light blue. You can fish and swim. Randall went bow hunting on it this past weekend. We went along and didn't get the full effect of the outdoors because we stayed in a hotel. I was happy getting a nice breakfast every morning. :) SInce he was hunting on only 15 acres, we didn't get to spend much time on our property so that we wouldn't scare the deer away. We went to South Llano State Park during the day Friday and hung out at the Junction city park. Saturday when we left we stopped at a family member's ranch to say hi. WOW! It was incredible. That's where we got to ride the 4 wheelers as well as feed their cows. They have beautiful exotic animals all over the place. We were in heaven. It didn't hurt that they had a gorgeous new home built on it too! The kids loved it, especially the 4 wheelers. It made us miss the awesome deer lease Randall was on last year but eager to one day have some land for our family to make many memories on!
